Education Campaign kicks off the school year with 2 great events!

As the school year begins, it's time to get moving on our campaign to defend public education!  This campaign could not be more timely as we watch children go back to overcrowded schools this fall while Georgia's youth struggle to pay increased tuition or give up their college hopes altogether. As we get into election season, it is especially important to increase awareness about Georgia's education crisis to keep the public informed and the powerful pressured. To that end, we want to keep the movement rolling and to keep the education debates in the spotlight. Join us in the first two events of the fall! 

Can Your Campus Host the Be The Change Tour?

Climate change, economic crisis, loss of the public sector, growing militarization of our culture, immigration reform, the prison industrial complex, healthcare reform, and poverty are all issues of growing concern not only within the borders of Georgia but across the globe. What factors do these issue have in common? Could linking the threads of these issues increase our capacity to develop a new vision for our collective future? These are questions that the “Be The Change ” Tour hopes to explore with you.  
 

August 11, 2010 - Date set for Lobbying Committee Research Workshop

I've been in touch with a research librarian from the UGA Libraries named Amber, and she has agreed to lead us in a guided research session at the UGA Main Library on Saturday Sept. 11th, 2010. I wanted to forward this to y'all so that we can all be aware of the developing plans for this research session. Get pumped! Also, in addition to getting pumped, let me know if you have any critiques or follow-up questions.
