GPJC Membership Meeting Nov. 22

GPJC will be hosting a Georgia activist meet-up at
the annual School of the Americas Watch vigil  Nov. 21-23rd in Columbus. The gathering will take place Saturday night at 7pm at the Comfort Inn (5236 Armour rd. Columbus 31904). This is the 5th year that we've hosted this meeting and it's always a great opportunity to meet Geogia folks that are outside our network.
For more information on the weekend check out www.soaw.org

State Of Change Tour

The Georgia Peace and Justice Coalition has just completed a four-city, youth-organized tour across Georgia featuring performances from acclaimed indie folk group Hope for Agoldensummer, indie political hip hop group, Contraverse, and other Georgia-based artists. The State Of Change tour also featured several Iraq war veterans including, Doug Ament, who shared testimonials with the crowd.

GPJC’s goal is to empower youth by giving them the chance to organize in their communities. Our belief is that providing young people with the opportunity to develop leadership skills is the best way to transform apathy into action. Each city stop on the tour has been organized, promoted, and emceed by local youth activists.

Where and When:
Thursday October 16th, Athens
Friday October 17th, Atlanta
Saturday October 18th, Americus
Sunday October 19th, Marietta
